Welcome to the Kenyan Community of Oregon (KCO).

KENYAN COMMUNITY OF OREGON- KCO is a federal non-profit organization that seeks to address the issues affecting Africans especially those of Kenyan origin, the black communities and visible minorities while assisting newcomers to settle and make a positive contribution in the society as they endeavor to achieve their goals and dreams.

KCO also focuses on implementing programs and specifically offering services to newcomers, low-income families, racial and socially excluded groups residing in Oregon, to improve their personal well-being and social-economic status.

KCO works collaboratively with organizations and stakeholders through our grassroots network across the state of Oregon and the country at large. 

KCO will seek to find ways that focuses on implementing programs and services to those of Kenyan origin or affiliation, to newcomers, low-income families, visible socially excluded groups within the KCO residing in Oregon, to improve their personal well-being and social-economic status.

 KCO aims to work collaboratively with organizations and stakeholders through our grassroots network across the State and beyond.  

Some of the marginalized groups in the community that we will focus on

  • All immigrants, of Kenyan origin or close affiliation through marriage or naturalization.
  • Community benevolence mobilization.
  • Refugee migrants, and students
  • Women and Girls
  • Youth and children
  • Seniors
  • Technologically and language challenged
  • People experiencing mental health challenges.
  • People of Low Socio-Economic Status
  • Unemployed People
  • Black Community especially Continental Africans
